Anyone for Download?

If you are going away somewhere and don't mind meeting up with other Bongo owners or if you've been somewhere & want to tell us about it & stick up your photos, put the details here.

Anyone for Download?

Post by dave_aber » Fri May 02, 2014 1:54 pm

Bongo and I will be making our 5th pilgrimage to Donington this year.

Who else is going?

Feel free to pop in for a beer. Silver AFT, Pink dog on the bonnet, some sort of big tent next to it.

Hello.... Of course we are heading to download this year. Second year in the bongo. Wouldn't go back to normal camping now, the pros of having the campervan shone through last year during the torrential rainstorm on the Thursday.

We are doing a bit of a bizarre trek with the bongo this year. We are heading down south on Saturday 31st May aiming for Birmingham on Tuesday 3rd June, heading to Kos for a wedding before heading back to the UK on Tuesday 10th June, stealing a friend's driveway for the night and then heading up to Download from there on the Wednesday.
If we manage to pull this off, I will be very impressed.

How are you heading down?? Are you making a trip of it??

We'll travel down Thursday night, stop over in a travelodge or similar around midnight (there's 4 of us, and the van will be packed to teh roof), and then on to Donington on Friday. Beers will be open by 10am :-)

hey dave... just got word that the campervan boardie corner (from the download forums) should be in the same place again... so if you are heading down to the arena entrance, come say hi. we should be on the right hand side.
:D

p.s - I called you aberdave on another thread. sorry.

Give our love to Kos. Wedding eh? Nothing to do with Mastihari by any chance? We have a Brit friend there that organises weddings.

Enjoy the trip.

Not my cup of tea either but i usually end up taking daughter and friends down and then picking them up at the end, also have to take a trip down when they a) need more money or b) we stink and need a shower. I think we should move and not live so close  .

I have no idea. It is friends of my OH Neil and he is being best man but is sadly not nosey. All I know is that we are on an island with a church on it. Oh and the suits the men are wearing cause I had to take them shopping for them.

It's nearly that time again. As i'm all for recycling, I thought I'd recycle last year's thread.

So - Who's all going to Download this year?

I'm going down on the Wednesday this year (usually arrive Friday) so this will be a painful one. All day Thursday doing the Donington Village pub crawl.

Can't wait!

But of course... heading back down with Billy the Bongo... and Neil (I suppose).

Leaving Aberdeenshire on the Saturday and taking a toddle down to see Neil's parents in Englandshire before heading back up to Download on the Wednesday morning. Probably leave them on the Tuesday to get somewhere nearer to the festival.
:D

It's going to be another awesome year I think. I wonder if any of the other twenty-odd vans I took pictures of last year will be back again... might have to have a nosey one night and see.

Hi.

Anyone know if I can take a camping trailer behind my bingo. Not sure if it breaks the rules.

Cheers

Annual resurrection of this - Who's off to Download again this year then?

Stewby - I have heard disturbing news over on the DL Forum....

Hey Dave.

Yeah, it was true. We missed DL this year but went to New York which was absolutely amazing.

Not all my fault though, Neil couldn't get time off work (another colleague went instead) so we just had to miss it this year.

Roll on 2017 though.
:D

How was the pub crawl??
