Registration Plates

Post by Rex&Dee » Thu Aug 04, 2016 2:41 pm

Hope someone out there can help.

We are looking for someone to make up a pair of Registration Plates for our NEW* Bongo.

The FRONT is fairly straightforward as it's a nice regular Rectangle.

The REAR however is a bit more complicated, we want to fill the whole of the recess. It will need to be made from template.

Anyone got suggestions or have already done this ?

All help appreciated.

Rex&Dee

* I say NEW she's actually a 2006 model with very low mileage, all in brilliant white ! Appears brand new :)

Pretty sure there are prescribed legal sizes.

You may just need to get a backing piece cut the size you want and fit the plate onto that.

Thanks Bob,

Yes it seems there are various 'regular sizes' available off-the-shelf. I have seen cars with larger than standard rear plates which fill the whole space available.

Will continue my search and will be use to abide by the relevant BS requirements.

Thanks again

Have a Google of 'Show Plates'.

These won't be compliant so you takes your chance. Some fit a legal one for MOT and run the other all year and take a chance.

Not suggesting you do it,that's your choice, but you may get someone to make up what you want. 8)

I got mine from here http://www.plates4cars.co.uk/designer.php#numberplates but if you've got one to measure first it helps. Do you want me to measure my plates for you. Sizes matters!

When I asked my local plate shop for the standard import plates - they didn't fit! Waste of money! That's why I measured the plates I had on the bongo and went to that website, where I found the exact match. That fits!
