Underseat plastic storage boxes
Morning all,
I will be getting my first Bongo very soon and I want to get some plastic storage boxes for under the seats for storing clothes and so on.
Does anyone have the exact measurements of the space? mine is a 1998 with 8 seats and has a rear conversion.
Thanks in advance.
Matt

Hi there,
I'm in the same situation. Just wondered if your van had arrived and if so if you found some boxes to fit?
Thanks

Hi Isi, and welcome to the Forum.
Probably worth just measuring up and buying a box to try. They're readily available and cheap.
Remember the handle to slide the seat causes a bit of an obstruction, hence try one and slide it about before buying more. You may be able to slide a box under and then behind said handle.
Some peeps have made very nice under seat storage so it may be worth a search, or someone may be along with plans.
To search use 'and' between words, ie seat and storage, or under and seat.

Re: Underseat plastic storage boxes
Hi and welcome to the newbies. I got some great storage boxes from Hobby craft. Not sure of sizes of mine but will have a measure up in a day or two but they do all kinds of sizes for example not very high ones but large ish floor area goes under handle for seats no probs then same design/colour but deeper and smaller floor area for either side of handle. They do different colours and have lids that lock into place. I prefer a few smaller boxes rather than one huge box as I can organise things better......just personal choice.

ASDA do a £3, 11 litre box. I had a few of these under the seats. Couldn't fit many clothes perhaps, but handy size for small stuff.

may not be a good idea to have an e-mail address as your user name.
It should be possible to change it pm Ian if not reregister

I used the bread baskets which are left outside the shops at night for the early morning lorry delivery
They fit perfectly and can be tie wrapped to underneath the seats so they slide with the seats
Some of the shops do black ones now
And there free if your up early enough

Picked up a couple of these from the rubbish at the end of a steam rally a while back.
Never thought to try them under the seats.

Re: Underseat plastic storage boxes
My choice too. Don't need the whole floor space clear to pull out one box. Centre box can be shallower to accommodate lever under the seat. Most frequently used box nearer the door etc.cazzyblues wrote: ...

Re: Underseat plastic storage boxes
We bought 2 x 18 litre clip top boxes from The Range, made by "The Really Useful Box Company" for the wide side, and 2 x Ikea "Samla" boxes for the narrow side. I guess it's personal choice, but they fit well enough and suit us.
We've just come back from a 4 night trip, and the 18 litre boxes held more than enough clothes for the two of us

Would save some dough though.
