Loads of owners in the NW, where are they chatting?
I see lots of Bongo's here in the North West, but don't see posts from actual Bongo owners?
Where are they all?
Where are they all?
I'm Back.... A little older, wiser and a lot calmer.
Re: Loads of owners in the NW, where are they chatting?
Everyone seems to use facebook these days... I am just grateful that a lot of the old stalwarts still use this forum and post a lot of useful information which can be trusted.....
I prefer the forum as there is less chit-chat and more Bongo related stuff.

Mike......I am not against chit-chat between people with similar interests......in fact there are two people on here called Bill and Ben who often provide a lot of amusing banter.. .
The thing about this forum is the topic sections...if you need Bongo help you go to Techie stuff.....off message for general chat and jokes.....etc
This forum is a gold mine of Bongo stuff and long may it continue....

Its bad enough trying to find knowledge stuff on BF (but not too bad) but on Facebook I've not sussed at all how to pull together discussions about specific technical stuff. Its an (addictive) pain, but its the pub everyone seems to be drinking in these days! In fairness though, there is and I think will always be great recognition and respect on Facebook for BF as the Founding Fatherland of Bongoness. But the connectivity of Facebook pulls everyone in.alant54 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2017 9:00 am Mike......I am not against chit-chat between people with similar interests......in fact there are two people on here called Bill and Ben who often provide a lot of amusing banter.. .

Got to admit that I am also on Facebook these days, the Scottish Section. But I still go out with my old Bongo club friends in the North West, mostly to Allithwaite where I will be at the end of the month in my posh new motorhome.
From what I can see it is typical of todays me-me-me society with people wanting to download loads of photos of themselves. Something that does not appear to be possible on Bongo Fury these days.
But Facebook is not perfect it gets boring when people keep asking the same technical questions over and over again and self appointed experts keep giving out the wrong advice. Bongo Fury needs its photos back and Facebook needs a reliable technical section.

Tony you are right about so called experts....the people who reply to questions on this forum give excellent advice based on experience of long Bongo ownership and can be trusted...
It sometimes amazes me at the depth of knowledge that these people have about Bongos.
If you need good reliable help come to Bongo Fury.
Hoping to see you again at Allithwaite.

Hear hear Tony! I do fb these days but its not a patch on the cocktail of chat and useful (researchable) advice there used to be on BF. But its so much more connected and generally used and understood, with photos easier to post etc that its inevitable Bongo life has gravitated there. Sad though.MountainGoat wrote: ↑Fri Jul 13, 2018 11:08 am Got to admit that I am also on Facebook these days, the Scottish Section. Hello all, new bongonauts here based in Manchester.
Hoping to take Sheila out this weekend to the lakes for our debut trip (weather permitting).
Looking forward to trying out the pop-top. Think we'll be a bit chilly up on the roof this time of year?
