I was trying to find out info about Magnatec and came across this. I have not made any conclusions myself
and have always used Castrol Magnatec or Halford swhen on offer (for my petrol car), no doubt quality is decent
with Castrol but I might try something else on my next change after having read this.

Given I am most likely to change oil a little more regularly those Halfords specials will be even more welcome.
If anyone see this do PM me if you spot a Halfords sepcial.

I will just add that that forum thread is now 13 years old ! So it could well be outdated info, in any event I have never had a problem myself
