First “white stuff” of the season!
Any excuse to venture up into them there hills, the roads from Oldham to Ripponden over Saddleworth moor were pretty risky, in fact at Denshaw the A640 was blocked and traffic was directed by Mountain Rescue.
So onwards to Oxenhope Moor, the top of which is at the boundary of Calderdale and Bradford councils so neither appeared to be bothered to grit it or clear the snow. Consequently with a stiff westerly wind whipping drifts across the road it was, erm, awkward, and not made any easier by people giving up and trying to reverse all the way back down

You might recognise that parking spot Ady, it's where I needed a heap of coolant and bleed if you recall!Northern Bongolow wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 6:48 pm I hope your self isolating your spam on return to this side of the border muz.
If you look on the OS map, that spot also goes by the unfortunate name of Cock Hill. When the Tour de France came through town, they decided Côte d’ Oxenhope Moor sounded rather better

Not sure the French would understand Spam Corner.

Cycling injuries would be minimized if they put spam crash bale's on the mountain corner descents.
It was a tad mad at 4.30 this morning with a loaded fuel artic, I wasn't quite up there, but nearby, around 100 artic's stuck near Rochdale coss one of them lost the plot.!!.
