Hey everyone, I’m a computer guy and completely clueless with anything mechanical. I’m also based in Spain right now, so not many bongo specialists around… hoping the community here can give me some advice
So, after a drive it occasionally smells a bit oily, and recently I’ve been hearing a squeaking sound like a belt slipping so I decided to open it up and have a look.
I’ve added a photo, you can see on there where it looks quite wet around the front near the belts. It looks and smells to me like oil. It seems to me like if some of that had dripped on the belt it could be causing the sound?
Some checks from around 2021 revealed some oil leaks around the ‘front crank pulley’ and ‘from both camshaft seals and rocket cover gasket’ which were cleaned and they advised monitoring. The rocker cover gasket was since replaced.
Do you guys think this is something to worry about? Should I just clean it off and crack on or get it looked at by someone?
Thanks in advance!

All the engines seem to suffer from small oil leaks, provided your not having to up an excessive amount I wouldn't get massively worried most people seem to have dirty engines, just make sure that its not leaking onto other critical items like the leads or belts themselves. You can clean the oil off if you like a clean engine, it ought not to do any harm.
