Auto gearboxes don't have a clutch, but instead use a torque convertor, that as far as I know don't wear out as relies on fluid to transmit the power. Not too sure on the cambelt (there is a service schedule on BF somewhere), but I seem to recall it is about every 60,000 miles.

The cam belt is around a 2- 2.5 hour job. Parts are approx £60 so allow around £125 all in, depending how cheap your garage is.

Simon is right about the cambelt, and I would expect a torque converter to outlast the engine, so probably 250,000 miles plus, is what I would expect. One more plus point for auto-gearboxes over manuals. :)
