I now have agreement from Mrs B, she's working Saturday am, so I'm collecting her from work and we should be with the Gang about 15.00.

Mrs B is veggie so will pass on the roast, and don't confuse the pub with the Barge at Seend Cleeve, further along the K&A.

forecast don't look too bad. :D

Have you made contact with The Barge Inn to make sure they are going to be open (the campsite) for this meet? Just wondered if they were thinking of closing it because of the weather?

What should I bring?

Nice idea but it could make the lamb a strange taste. And a tad smokey :D

I was forced to retire at 65 by Capita plc, and didn't want to, you can't please everyone! Hence the Bongo, so there's life after retirement!

If this rain continues then we might need it as a lifebelt !

I notice that one of the reviews says;
The pitches were dry when I arrived. When the weather turned wet the ground got a bit puddled, glad I brought my wellies with me.

If all goes to plan, I'm sure it won't just be the ground that gets puddled

6.20pm Wednesday - Just checked in with the Barge .... its go go go ..........

As for food Jilly, I'm not sure, having had a conversation with Castleton, he's hoping that we can all chip in for the cost of the lamb, I thought I'd take some veg and some potatoes (in their jackets ... after all it is a little cooler #-o ), so go with what you like to eat ... I'm sure there will be others with similar tastes! Perhaps some pici bits, or savouries .....

and as for veggies we'll cook up some tasty cheesey fahita pizzas .... chuck it all in together and I'm sure it'll get eaten!

Do we have any other offers of gazebo's? I'll tap up the outlaws I know they've got one or two ... might be a team event to get it errected!!

Alex

I will do spit roasted Lamb. The 1/2 Lamb £45/50 plus charcoal. When I have done this for my hang gliding club family camp outs familys chipped in a fiver to cover the cost only.
If everyone brings salads/ Accessories. And those that bring potatoes in foil we can do those with the Lamb. Those non meat eaters would like to bring something i will be happy to cook that separately for them.
I was planning to rig up a Large Tarpaulin to shelter under (don't wanna use my awning) and a wind break, I will be there 1pm Saturday. let the fun begin
Perhaps a last roll call could be good

Regards Nick aka Chasleton

ps oooohh the odd beer will go down well

May get a bit confusing with many of us turning up as individuals rather than families, I'm sure we'll work it out ok though
If we all bring something to add to the feast as well & if anyone wants to cook anything on dorothy, I'm sure it won't be a problem
