It's not a cheap option BUT 
because you can tailor the bump and rebound damping, its possible to have the van handle better, by having less roll, less swaying.
It can also handle being lowered, without an increase in spring rate, by adjusting the bump rate, so retaining the original ride quality, without bottoming out. I can't tell the difference in ride quality at all.
The suspension place tested my original shocks and found they had a lot of bounce damping, and virtually no rebound damping.
Wacking in shorter stiffer springs alone will make the Bongo handle and ride horribly !
