Would love to come, but it ain't worth putting the awning up for one night. How many are staying longer
What about electric hook ups? We're Southern Softies, remember?
Put us down as a definate maybe

You may win the prize for furthest travelled too!
No idea yet who's doing an extended stay but I asked about the hook-up facilities. Bottom line is officially, there are none but there are a few portable generators available if anyone needs one. Another option is to pay a fiver & sleep on one of the comfy sofas, another fiver buys you a top notch breakfast all made from local produce.
They have a very flexible attitude towards giving people what they want & are willing to go that extra mile, it really is one of the best pubs in the land & well worth the effort making the trip.

I've only sorted the Saturday, but all are welcome to come early and/or stay later.
The site I have in mind is about 250 yards away from the pub. Its part of the remains of an old mine/quarry, a 3/4 circle cut 15ft deep into the rock that gives plenty of shelter & probably large enough to fit a dozen or so Bongos. Saying that though, if we get a crowd, the nearest lampost is 11 miles away - no shortage of space!!

Cheers for that Mark,I`ll wait fo confirmation before we decide,I`m on leave that week,so if its just one night we may book a full week elsewhere.
But it may be nearby so we can nip across, but as its in a pub,id rather not drink n drive.
We`ll see what Mr M says

Hiya Brian (& Platty),
As it stands, I've only organised the saturday.
All are welcome to camp around the carpark before or after for £2 per night or drive 500 yards up the road & wild it. Either way, the scenery is great & not to be missed. Its also the kind of of place thats hard to leave. The crowd are always top notch. Get there on a Friday & you may well find yourselves spending a week there anyway!!
As space for caravans goes, we're smack bang in the middle of 250 sqare miles of moorland. You'll find a spot.

mr monkey is right its an amazing place though i,ve heard that tan (the famous VW munching sheep) has gone to live elsewhere but there is now a resident lamb.I will be looking forward to actually seeing the views this time - the only mist i want to see will be the alcahol fog.
