Just a bit gutted as it doesn't look like I'll be able to make it :( Knees are shot & it's a lot of walking at Santa Pod, anyone got a quad going spare?

No, you've got years left. Just hide in the back of a Bongo, covered in camping gear as you go through the gates. ¡No problemo!

Not that I'd condone such behaviour, of course [-X [-X

I'd have thought a few more'd be up for it, but I suppose it's an awkward one with schools just going back, was watching some drag racing from the States at stupid oclock the other morning 8) Made me want to be there, have a great weekend :D
For anyone not sure, or thinking about it, just do it, you'll love it, it's not an expensive weekend, there's loads going on & there's nothing that can describe what it's like when the top fuel cars & jet cars run 8)

Weather and track fantastic. Several new European records already on the first day of qualifying. A record for the fastest top methanol dragster in the world was set. Any day visitors coming over the weekend?

If the weather's been anywhere near as good as here, you must have had a scorcher  What time did they set?

What a fantastic weekend. Great weather, great racing and great company.

From the website -www.eurodragster.com
Subject to official ratification the following records were set:
Top Methanol Funny Car ET: 5.687 seconds, Ulf Leanders
Pro Modified ET: 5.988 seconds, Mats Eriksson
Pro Modified speed: 241.59 mph, Mats Eriksson
Pro Stock ET: 6.649 seconds, Jimmy Ålund
Pro Stock speed: 207.07 mph, Jimmy Ålund
Top Fuel Bike ET: 5.978 seconds, Peter Svensson
Top Fuel Bike speed: 232.34 mph, Peter Svensson
Pro Stock Bike ET: 7.078 seconds, Dave Beck

Eventful weekend with all the records being set. A few didn't make it down the track though....
FAA Venom - massive wheelie off the startline then turned a sharp left and hit the wall at half track. He lost the body shell over the wall then crossed the finish line upside down. Talking to the crew later on the driver is AOK. Apparentley he was very calm as he crossed the finish line going through the standard fuel shut off and fire extinguishers procedures.

Strange for a 2 car incident. ProMod in the left hand lane took a sharp right and ran into the back of the other car that was slowing down.

TopFuel - powered off the start line and then lost a wheel completely. He 360'd down the middle of the track while his loose wheel went on to complete a full half mile.
