I'd agree with that. I'd also try squirting diluted fairy liquid on the stud and rev it to see if you get anything escaping. Worth a try?

Hi, I had the van in the garage for other stuff to be looked at and they got rid of the noise by lubricating the belts. I'm amazed just the belts was generating such a racket but apperently so.

The noise will return next week when the lube has gone.

Look at Kirstys advice (first answer you got). That's the cure. :D

thank you, yes I was expecting that it will come back so I will be ordering some new belts.

apologies to hijack this thread however looked at this picture and thought " my engine has oil around the main bolts of the engine and this one does not.... should i be worried..?!?
