White Rabbit say that the £30.00 camping tickets have been withdrawn due to lack of interest, so unless Mike can pull some white rabbits out of a hat, we're going to have to go for the £50.00 tickets

I'm afraid I'm now going to have to miss this meet :( I've got a family funeral to go to on Friday afternoon and will be staying overnight. I will actually be in Northamptonshire, but it doesn't really seem polite to say I'm off to the racing [-X

Race doesn't start until 4.30pm, make a dignified escape around lunchtime and get there in time for the pre-race buildup

It's a nice thought, especially as I'm not keen on funerals (especially my own  ) I'll see how it goes and take my tickets with me, but don't hold your breath, as I'll have my son with me as well and he doesn't like motorsport  . My uncle dropped dead, totally unexpectedly, and my aunt and cousin are pretty cut up, as you would expect, especially as my cousin's husband only died a few weeks ago :( They were told that my uncle had had a massive heart attack and died instantly. Just goes to show that you never know - he wasn't even slightly overweight, only drank on special occasions, never smoked and took regular exercise.

Great weekend as usual.....well I like racing and camping.....
Great to meet Team Muz again and it was nice weather daytime yesterday and for the start of the main race, however the weather turned a little sour with the rain that swept the UK...oh well.......
My cousin enjoyed it and got plenty of photos.........I didn't.... I am sure Muz will be sharing some with you all

Yes indeed. A great event, shame the weather deteriorated but that’s racing – it’s spooky in the grandstands at 5am with the cars circling obediently behind the Safety Car in the fog

As far as photos go, Silverstone is undergoing significant change and there are less & less opportunities for fence-free shots, which is really frustrating knowing what it was like only last year

Image
Camp set up behind the Start/Finish straight – No chance of any sleep then

Image
Time to look at some of the contenders – where else can you get into the pit garages and this close to the cars?

When did you last see an AlfaSud?

Mrs Muz famously asserted that this should be on a Merry-go-Round

Exhausting work, this 8)

Back to camp for some lunch before the start of the race

Now here’s an idea. Start the race with a Union Flag. But where from – get a geezer in a Red Beret to put a target in the gravel….

Image
….get some people to leap out of what appears to be a perfectly airworthy plane….

Image
….make patterns in the sky….

Image
…and deliver said Union Flag from the sky 8)

Image
Now that is a cool idea :D

Pre-race buildup – the much fancied Jet-Alliance Porsche 997

The amazingly fast but amazingly fragile Aquila CR1
