...and/or if you've got a 12v socket in the leisure circuits, test with one of these: http://www.bamfordtrading.com/products/ ... uded-.htmlhaydn callow wrote:In future it would be wise to use a cheap voltmeter (multi meter) and keep a check on the battery....best not to let it drop below 11 volts before recharging.....this applys to any battery. Also if you let it drop to very low voltages there is a good chance you will blow the main fuse if you start the engine. If this happens it will never charge untill the fuse is replaced.....Check this hasn't happened in your case......(put a volt meter across the terminals and with the engine running you should read about 14 volts +/- ...if it still reads 3.5 then the fuse is probably blown)
Every time we camp, I do a safety check on the mains supply, if on hook up, and test the leisure battery with one of these, before settling down - I also periodically check the latter when not camping, of course.
Starter battery condition is constantly visually monitored by using one of these to split the cab 12v socket's output to power phone, satnav and, at this time of the year, Mrs M's heated seat: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165489
