thanks , yes looked at those topics , tried all the obvious things , except changing the hoses
wished Al's garage was closer
does he know a reasonable tow truck , i might ship it down to him to have alook ?

probably in doone's links but have you tried to start it and run it with the fuel cap off,the breather can block.or check all the filters,including the banjo filter.check all the pipes from the tank.
you could fit a clear piece of pipework either side of the filter housing,and watch for air going through the system,that could help to point you in the right dirrection.

sorted
put the main fuel pipe into the injector pump , straight into a can of diesel , ran up straight away , then waited for a bit , then put the pipe back on the filter housing . been fine ever since . !

sounds like a temp cure

im afraid.could be something floating about in the tank.or cap problem.or pipe leak still.

I have to agree with Ady.
You may have by-passed a fault but not found the source of the problem.
