Cheers - 40 mpg will have to stay in my dreams then (33 is fine for now)- but then you dont buy a Bongo for its super economy..
Yep I have spent plenty on it, but as I've just got it I would rather have the big bills at the start of my ownership (aiming for the next 5 years!) rather than at the end so you get the benefit of all the work.. and it will also drive much nicer and I'm looking forward to seeing what difference it will all make.
One thing I can see costing me ££'s in the future is my crusty rear wheel arches - its amazing how quickly the rust comes through..

Hi steveyd,
33 MPG is not bad, after you get more used to the vehicle you should maybe get about 37 MPG.
Cheers.

Aye right! even folding in the mirrors and sitting at 45 mph on the motorway

, I'd be very doubtful if you'd get real 37mpg, how accurate is yer speedo?

I'm stuck in the doldrums of the low 20s.
The best I've ever seen is 29mpg on a 65mph run down from Scotland with the trailer hooked up.
The only way I'd get even close to achieving 37 would be to revert back to a KM speedo, now theres a thought!!
