haydn callow wrote:Can someone tell me why it is so important to have so many baffels inside the tank.....I have heard about degassing etc but many vehicles do not use baffeled tanks.......why would degassing not take place in a tank with 1 or 2 baffels or indeed none at all???

To knock up a metal tank would be quite simple were it not for the amount af baffels.

Also to have some plastic ones made would be far simpler,
Hi haydn,

Would the metal tank be ok with your LCA sensors/screws etc.
Or just need a wee mod.
Cheers.

Baffled alloy tanks can be made and with a level reading if you really want one....price wise ......er...for those who want something really special.....
For the most of us....stick to the plastic.....as they are only around £100...should you happen to need one...plus they are the pukka Mazda degas design

I won't even pretend to understand each and every single aspect of each specific baffle's role in the cooling system... Suffice to say that if they were there in the first place, then there must be a damn good reason for it. :D

I've bookmarked your link Mike, just in case my tank does ever give up the ghost. Thanks! :D
