Thanks for the response. I would have hoped that the faceplate being off would disable all the circuits, bar the memory, regardless of whether the switched live feed is closed or not. Similarly, off should mean off. My stereo has two settings - standby and off. When off, the remote won't wake it. I'd hope that it isn't drawing any significant current, but I guess I'll just have to get the old multimeter out to find out.

I had this when i changed my new raido,there are 2 lives one going in is only for memory of stations ect and the other is when on full power,i put a switch on the main power one now i can keep main power off but leave on the low power one to keep all my memory in the raido.

suits us,as i like to have tv/raido on when i like rather than on igition switch.

does this make any sence at all?
