get a cotton bud jamie and gently hook it out, ive seen fatty deposits hanging into the pump from the undrside of the filter which couldnt be seen from a visual check when it was in place (veg oil unfiltered).
you dont need to unbolt the very stuborn allenkey,and mind you dont loose the copper washers either side of the banjo itself-----oh and dont forget to blow clean the banjo bolt holes .

something to add to this,try and clean out metal pipe going to banjo,as it gets hot it seems to get a varnish coating on the inside and fall off blocking filter(on veg)

I do this now and again to prevent problems rather than let it block up.

I'm somewhat confused... I undid the bolt..


taking it nice & steady not to lose anything....

Removed a spring, & pulled up the filter..


But saw no washers...

It was however all pretty clean in there!

The end of filter is easy to clean ,but also hold up to light and you may see the sides of mesh are not as clean,i like the lot to be clean..

Certainly did.. Also played the strong white led at the end of my extendable magnetic pick up through it too!

prob used unfiltered chip pan oil.
there should be a copper washer either side of the banjo itself, so that when it goes back it is sealed on both faces. one between the bolt head and the top face of the banjo, and another between the bottom face of the banjo and the top of the pump.

Could these washers have remained seated in position on removal of the bolt, spring & filter??

even i get a varnish build up from very clean veg oil(o.5 micron) and a twin tank kit

my metal pipe to banjo gets real hotn as i have a heatechange b4 it. and i think oil gets cooked up in there,not had any trouble since i clean that pipe out too.

The varnish that comes off does not melt but is soft,i also now use injector cleaner now and again to help keep it all clean in there.and give it a blast on diesel only now and again.

yes but they can and do drop out. you need to make sure they are in place mate. sorry.

Ideally the copper washers should be annealed before reassembly too, to ensure they seal properly.

Guy's i was really careful removing the gubbins... Nothing else dropped out!!

I even had a couple of magnets handy just in case...

Right I'm pulling it apart & having another look!!

I'm not sure that a magnet will help with the copper washers TBH.....

It's all rather open to interpretation isn't it.. Where is the spring & filter?

If i'm right the i didn't remove the part 24-2942 & i can with my led see two brass looking ledges further down the hole where the filter sits.... (You can see one of em in the picture.)
