Just reading a previous thread were the V6 was over revving - turned out to be the TPS that was at fault, I just wonder if could be the same here as well ?

Thank-you very much guys, as always you have really helped me - I think I have eliminated a blocked air intake/dirty filter or dodgy o2 sensor, the more I think about it being a dodgy temperature sensor the more convinced I am (hopeful more like!).

One of the symptoms I forgot to mention is that, from cold, the radiator cooling fan kicks in, which sounds like a temp sensor that is faulty to me. My next question.....where is the sensor (be gentle with me I am an idiot when it comes to car mechanics!) I have a photo of the engine under the drivers seat - if you can point me in the right direction that would be amazing!

The other question is where is a good place to get the sensor from? Any recommendations?

Thanks again!

Matt.

Its at the front between the two banks sticking out see the Lush diagrams, the sensor is 18-840C which fits into 15-17Z (Water outlet) that is bolted onto the front of the engine;

Thank-you very much....my next issue is finding a local garage with Bongo ECU diagnostic experience (Chichester/Bognor Regis). A morning on the phones tells me this is no easy task!

For this level of problems your nearest Bongo specialist is Discount Trucks nr Newbury. What Fred and Gerry do not know about Bongos probably only the Japanese know. Fred cured my V6 when it refused to start when it was raining, shades of good old British Leyland. Although V6's were few and far between then they still found the problem and fixed it.

They also did a great job with Flossie's V6 which arrived from Japan with assorted problems.

Further away is 321Away nr Woking. Julian really knows his Bongos. He is brilliant on the electrical side which seems the weak point on the V6.

Most local Bongo specialists are fine on diesels and can fix anything common to both, but only the main importers have had the experience with V6's.
