In that case its better to pickup up a fuse of similar rating, I would go for the Pink wire on the lower connection of this fuse - it powers the sliding door closure only;


Fuses protect the wiring itself, and are chosen on the basis of what the wire itself can carry, so when you Tee off a power connection you need to make sure that the wire that your adding is rated at not less than the wires the fuse already protects, in this case it sounds like the wire is rated for 15 amps at least so its best to pick a similar circuit fused the same.

In that case then Geoff, could Matt's white wire to the ACC in the instruction manual be connected to behind fuse 8? Cigar lighters, mirrors, radio (15a) when the ignitions on...

Yup that will be the Blue wire on the lower connection of this fuse;

Matts quest is getting easier then... I hope he hasn't got (or plans) a leisure battery set up to this..?!!

Thanks guys. It's unconverted, Jamie, and even when camping I can't see me needing a leisure battery, especially if it's another job I can avoid.

I got the day out tomorrow, gonna locate the indicator wires for you to connect the brown lines too... My memory is so bad!

Would appreciate that greatly, Jamie. Conflicting accounts of where they are and what colour they are.

That link in your first post is for the Mazda MPV Van not a Mazda Bongo Friendee, I think they are different things ?
What are the other wires your looking for ?

Should be the easiest for me to find out on account of the rest getting buried pretty deep in the bongo system...

I'm glad you got those diodes in line though... I had to fit em to mine.. Without them i found as well as my indicators flashing when i left my indicator on (Ignition off, parked) a back pulse caused all my warning lights on the dash pod to light up too!!??

Matts looking for the indicator wires for the locking/unlock flash Geoff...

There they Green with Black stripe and Green with White stripe down on the F1-01 connector for the flasher unit see here in drivers footwell;

You will also find them up on the Instrument Panel but that is probably more difficult to reach then the flasher unit.

I took my tap for these behind the indicator switch in the loom under the steering cowl.... Just been out & had a look, hard for me to identify whats going on on account of me covering the loom with split conduit sleeve & taping it all up..

And finally - the trigger wire for the front door is also in the vicinity of the foot panel area, I believe? Looking for the wire that turns on the cabin light when the front doors are open./

Thanks Jamie, how hard does it look to you to get to up in the steering cowl

If you remove one of the door pins from the jam & pull it out.. (one screw.) you should be able to pick up the wire colour from the connection, & pick it up further on inside the foot panel... It also runs up inside the drivers A pillar behind the trim, but that will just cover the front doors.
