Supposed to get windy next weekend.

Wow!, the wind comes up very fast then goes down quickly. Looks like there is going to be a bad storm. Under all those trees will be a nice place to park your Bongo.

Won't know until Friday if I can come or not as an essential trip to Aberdeen is on the cards too ...so it will be a case of expect me if you see me!

Update: Thomas has been persuaded to stay at home, so I'll be free to go walking - conditions permitting, route TBD. The Lost Valley might be one to do without summiting.

Otherwise, it's dampers and tea all round.

Lost Valley - Good route. All you need to do is steal a few cows to take with you.

Got an ice axe? Pull-on rubber crampons at least? There is a bit of slabby rock on that route... Might be wise to bring at least one rope.

You should be ok Matt so long as it is not too much ice around. In the upper part of the valley there is a reasonable path along the right hand side of the valley underneath the cliffs, should be ok if there is snow on it rather than ice. You may have more problems with the gigantic rock pyramid known as "the Boulder" at the entrance to the valley if it is covered with ice. Makes me wonder how the highlanders got their stolen cattle into the valley, over the rock? there must be another way in that is now blocked by the trees.

Going to have to give this meet a miss as I have no idea how long I will be kept at the hospital, 12.30 onwards. Don't fancy putting my tent up in the dark, never had a comfortable nights sleep after having done so. Mulshy will be relieved that I won't be around to flatten his new awning in the dark with my Jeep.
