Re: Coolant Flush
Club shop sells Bosch seals for £6 which sounds like great value & you'll get an invoice with the right numbers on . Anyway, how did we get from coolant flush in Scotland to fuel pump seals?

I'm sure we can squeeze in a fuel pump seal change tomorrow afternoon, if absolutely necessary...

Sorry Simon,Simon Jones wrote:Anyway, how did we get from coolant flush in Scotland to fuel pump seals?
Mike (the guy who needs the coolant flush) had mentioned he also has a slight diesel leak on his fuel pump and I had suggested he gets himself a seal kit, sorry for the confusion.

Re: Coolant Flush
The seals are basically ok ... there is a very slight mist round the pump .. Bill mentioned in June I'd need to do them at some point. Not urgent at all. I had the van up on a lift a couple of weeks ago and it hasn't got any worse.
Loking forawrd to the fun (?) tomorrow!!

The great Haddington coolant flush was a huge success ... supported by a constant flow of hot tea and goodies courtesy of Elaine.
Thanks to Matt, Tony and Jim.
Learned lots and a bit more confident about tackling more maintenance jobs now. Thankfully nothing is too urgent as it is getting pretty chilly round here now.

Re: Coolant Flush
I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to doing work on Bongo's, but I am keen to learn, so anyone is doing work on their bongo and needs a pair of extra hands, send me a pm, if I am free, I will pop along to assist. I'm sure there are other guys like myself out there who would love to do some "work in progress" training. Thanks to Matt for coolant flush/Bleed coolant training.

Too true Matt. Ady would have got it right first time. To think that you are his star pupil.

Sounds like you had fun, will try and come up next time. This sounds like a great idea, using mechanical issues as a meet which gets a job done and teaches in the process.

Jumped in the car after the bleed, the air temp was only 4'c, as we were soaked and freezing it's no wonder you have a cold.
Don't know if Mike uses his bongo it all the time, so may be several days before you get confirmation. Textbook job what could possibly go wrong the weather forecast for Saturday was dry, that's why we used the driveway as Mike does not have power or water at his shed, feel bad you've ended up under the weather. Anytime you need an extra pair of hands give me a call, you can get your revenge.
