That would be every two years on average which seems a bit unnessary. A decent quality part should easily give 10 years of service. And I agree with you. I bought a low coolant alarm so it would tell me when a hose needed changing. I look for other devices to provide similar services. And of course it is said the Japanese throw their cars away every 3 years. Lucky us :lol: :lol: :lol:

It's a myth. You only have to look at BMW motorcycles as an example, to say they are unreliable is an understatement. If anyone has heard about the new watercooled horizontal twin engine, it has only just been released onto the market and they have already had three recalls, one of them major. Most BMW motorcycle owners carry spares around with them so that they don't get stranded somewhere :lol:

Designed for foreign police forces , no doubt, just like the BMW alloys on police motorcycles in the UK some years back, when they disintegrated!...
Still....if it wasn't for the criminal element over here, I don't think BMW and Mrs. Sadies would sell any cars

I clumsily broke an inner tube valve once with a forecourt Airline. (it is difficult to remove the thing cleanly due to spokes etc in the way and it took half the valve with it!) The recovery van driver said he didn't get many Triumphs, he mostly picked up BMWs and Harleys...

The Japanese change water pumps on all cars at coolant change as they use OAT Long life coolant which is 5 yr or the latest type is 11 yr life ... It's the Japanese way... looking after your investment as it is privilege not a right....

Ah well, when you put it like that. But how do you know these things oh wise one? Must admit I have thought about changing mine ahead of trouble appearing :roll:

That's Great News,this means that bongos have had the water pumps changed at least once before they come to the UK.

No mixing is the secret,I have seen a few vehicles that have come straight from Japan,the coolant looked like a mixture of Soya Sauce and Bisto.
