allans at plymouth.

Re: egr?
I managed to install the blanking plate towards the rear today, when I went in to check I noticed that the one at the front was leaking horrible black gunk everywhere.
One of the bolts had started to work its way loose, when I removed the two front bolts it looks like it's picked up some extra metal from either the plate or I've killed the thread that they used to sit in.
Now they won't tighten down fully and when I rev it I can see more black gunk working it's way out. The rear plate is now fitted so I'm assuming that it's pressure is coming from the inlet manifold side? am I right in thinking that nothing should be coming through the Egr pipe now?
Any advice on what to do about the thread for the bolts?
Starting to regret messing with it now

Re: egr?
either re tap, or helicoil or ive fitted imperial bolts with a slightly coarser thread in the past, it works fine.
