Thanks this is giving me a direction to go. I have a 12v lift pump I'll try that. Do you know how easy a seal would be to fit?
Fit the lift pump, if it solves the problem it is a pump of job to replace the front seal. Simple job, did mine and the other seals when off.

Bear in mind that the fly by wire pumps are different so make sure you can get/fit the bits before you start ripping it apart.

What and were would the lift pump need to be installed and where would I buy one?

Hi Windy
I don't think a lift pump would do you any good as you have an electric pump factory fitted. I think your problem is fuel evaporation, I would get the scavenger fan working first.

Yep, see your reasoning. I'll get the temperature sensor ordered from Ian as the first step.
cheers.

Windy, I think the fact that it happens on LPG too eliminates anything in the fuel supply system. I would be looking at cam or crank position sensors as these have been known to play up when hot resulting in a poor spark.

Years ago now mine kept stalling when warmed up, after longer journeys etc.
All I did was wash the filler cap in soapy water.
Never had a problem since, touch wood.

Hi All
Thanks to Supreme Being you got it right with the front pump seal, it looked okay until we tried to remove it then it just crumbled up. Should get the pump back tomorrow ( took it to a diesel pump specialist as these pumps are not readily available and I didn't want to damage it )

Ok Then got the pump back, refitted it bled the system started it up! hunts like a sick pig and the heater light flashes. Checked the vacuum pipes haven't been knocked off, checked all the pump connections, still at least it didn't stall! Apparently as an aside the fuel pump specialists ( who was really excellent )
reckons that Bio fuel is the reason the seals go hard, and the Japanese are really into Bio fuels.

At last have got it all sorted, it turned out the FIP drive gear had jumped a tooth when I reassembled the engine. managed to get it back in the right place, the Bongo now runs nice. and doesn't stall out when the tank gets low.
