Re: Piston Rings & Main Bearings

I have just rebuilt my entire bottom end with new bearings and piston rings following a cracked head episode.
Its quite easy sump off, remove main block brace and piston oil jets. All can then be removed quite easily.
I used a flexi hone to deglaze and then reassembly was quite straightforward.
My bottom end was amazingly good with no real marks on any of the bearings, but I changed them anyway.
Cost was £50 for bearings, £50 for piston rings all quality Japanese parts from May engines (eBay) approx 3 days delivery from Dubai.
My piston rings were quite gummed up but the bores were not worn so hopefully the hone and rings have sorted it along with a new head.
All runs fine now but won't drive till next week.
