Wooo, thanks for that.
I'll have to take mine back.
Mary, have a look in their skip.

I wish they'd say why. I've got two of these and one stays in the bongo! I don't want to take them back, they're so good. Anyone know?

Found this - It seems because of some potential fire safety ......which probably means that it doesn't pass some elf and safety EU regs about being fire resistant when tested and set on fire deliberately.

If I had one, I wouldn't take it back.
But if anyone is worried and wants to sell me theirs .................

They might do better getting the original price refunded!
On the other hand, the value could rocket up if they disappear from the market for ever.

If Mary had kept her bits after her beastie ravaged it, she could claim that the non-safety foam was irresistible to mutts.
I think I might make my own with 3 bits of safety foam and washable zipped covers. Might be a little business opportunity there to fund refreshments at a bongo bash!

Thank you all. The detective work has been superb. Given that Madam Jaws chewed the last one into the foam equivalent of a snowstorm, I suspect returning the bits would not work.
Until I can find what triggered this its a couple of old sleeping bags time. Having a nice new mattress atomised would be a cause of extreme fury. Suggestions have been made that the dog is afraid of the dark, so I will experiment with a light if I leave her.
The guest mattress must be on offer again soon. It was May the no stock offer. If not it will be Amazon time. Even with the sleeping bags its still comfier than an a tent and more waterproof.
The good news is that my sunroof no longer leaks, as tested in a six hour thunderstorm a couple of weeks ago. The cheapest fix ever, a dried berry was wedged in one of the drain tubes. do not park under a tree with the sunroof open. So one problem solved.
