Had a similar thing with my Bongo, the rear prop actually broke up and fell to the side of the road.

I fitted a used one that I bought from Ebay.

Oddly enough some slow speed vibration has crept back in, only noticed it yesterday when returning from Isle of Wight.

I will have to get the back up and have a look I suppose.

I may buy another one as a spare, there is a place not far from me at work "Propshaft Services" they can replace the UJ.

Better safe than sorry eh.

Has anyone actually replaced the yokes and bearings on a staked shaft? If the cups are held in with staking, machining would be necessary to enable circlips to be fitted. We used staked bearings on aircraft and generally if the bearing was worn the component was thrown away.

Yes you can purchase universal joints to replace the Staked Type, they use Snap Rings on the side of the cups.

No need for any machinery, you will need a large vice , a 2lb hammer, a file and a couple of punches.
