Thanks Geoff - that's good to know. I have seen several people recommend a particular leisure battery for the Bongo - I'll search the group and get that one.

Cheers guys

I'm not convinced that for LB's and particular make is much better than any other, the main thing is measure the physical dimensions you can fit on the tray and then find the largest AmpHour capacity you can fit normally 100-120 is the max. but some trays have a smaller base.

I've always had good service from Tayna Batteries.

No connected with them in any way.

Thanks - I'll have a look around. Price is a factor at the moment.

Hi. Just to update the group - I bought a Enduroline leisure battery (EXV82) from Tayna on Thursday night and it turned up Saturday afternoon - great site. Charged it and fitted it and it powers the little sink/hob unit at the rear - a water pump and invertor. So that's good. Unfortunately I don't think the relay that I found under the bonnet is working, as when the engine is running the voltage across the battery is still 12v - it should be 14v if the relay is open and the leisure battery is being charged, as I understand it.

A friend from work has a spare relay and has offered to help me fit it. Trying to not spend any more than I have to this year and perhaps have an overhaul of the wiring and get some LEDs running from the LB next year. Getting there!

Let us know if the new relay sorts the issue!

Yes, thanks.

Updates are really useful, partly for interest, and partly in case it comes up in the future. :)

Hi Guys,
I'm having the same problem with the leisure battery myself.

Whilst on charge, the fridge works OK, when off charge it's basically dead.

Tried testing but nothing reading, will be replacing with a 75 amp battery (is this the right size?).

Sounds like the leisure battery isn't working as expected for some reason, have you selected the LB from any control panel, have you checked the fuses at and around the LB, have you followed the wiring back to the control panel/ fridge ? Without some idea of what you have installed its difficult to be any more precise remember these are all after-market add-ons so every install is different!

75 AmpHour battery is a bit on the low side for a LB, use the largest capacity AmpHour rating that will fit on the tray normally 80-120AmpHour is the normal range.
