I was wandering around the Forum and came across this thread:

..sounds like someone has had this before and found the cause and cured it (of course your may be a diffrent cause)

In fact, putting 'Flashing' into the Search brings up other incidents (ironically, I'm preapring to deal with a flashing roof not closed microswitch problem but came across your problem!).
