nice work big d.... a catastrophe averted thanks to haydns alarm .........iam glad you found the culprit....you had me sweating for a bit there ......keep an eye on them (well you wont need too with that alarm)......and keep us ALL informed .....mine are all fine since i had to re- adjust that clip on the bleed .......unfortunatey that clip on the bung end will have to stay there for now.....as it is doing its job.......i have notified every one about this who has a set...by e-mail....if for some reason you havent received the e-mail iam posting this here....you will need to fit a jubilee clip on the bung end of the bleed its just a precaution for now.....i have ordered the bleed hose again at a reduced id....and everyone who has a set will get a replacement when i receive them back...any questions please ask here...

good news dbo......my coolant level hasnt changed since yesterdays top up...and everythings water tight.....things are looking good

I've just done maybe an hour's worth of local running around,not a drop lost,and the previous leak area is dry as a bone....

A motorway run will be the real test....

Sorry folks but I have to comment on what I have just read......I have heard nothing but praise for what Flippa has done......apart from some comments about making money out of Bongo owners.

If you look in the Bongo shop you will find in exteriors a roofrack made from GRP.......this has been my project for the last 3 months......I invested our Christmas money in trying to get this off the ground......plus many hours equiping my workshop.....wasting some very expensive material in the development stage......the trialing stage to make sure that the product was worthy of putting on sale.......it will take a lot of sales to recoup what I have spent in the process.

So I take my hat off to Flippa for having the guts and temerity to go ahead with this project not knowing if it will fail or succeed.....scary times as I know.

So well done Flippa....and all the guinea pigs who put their faith in him.

I happened to see one of Alant54's racks on DaveBlueOzzies AFT on Saturday. Most impressed with its strength, lightness, design, corrosion-free material and colour match to the Bongo AFT. Its a thoroughly innovative piece of kit. As useful as those Mazda Bongo alloy roofracks but better, cheaper and more available. If I were getting a roofrack (or bars), this is the one I'd get. 100% no brainer.

Mike....my intention is not to promote the roofrack but to highlight the amount of time...effort ..and stress that goes into bringing a product onto the market........therefore all credit to Flippa for biting the bullet and going ahead with his project.......I have had some great support from the Northern Mafia.... ....in developing Bongobars for tintops.......many miles of travel....some cock ups.....but that is always in the background as to how much time people actually spend helping each other out......if we even charged the national minimum wage if would not be affordable... ........Alan

Hi can any one answer if someone is compiling a kit of jubilee clips to go with all the six hoses needed? or are they simply enough to get from any motor factors shop etc.

Bigdaddycain sourced sets of suitable clips for himself and a few other members including me from Manflex in Warrington. Website http://www.manflex.co.uk you could ask him what you need and perhaps order them on line.

I had 2 very abusive PM's regarding myself cashing in with the coolant alarm and what a waste of time it was anyway. It's good to read a few of the replys where the alarm has in fact alerted people to difficult to spot coolant loss. At one point I was going to chuck it all in but then decided you will always get the odd one or two who will always look for the worst in your efforts. The alarm is now 6/8 months down the line and only in November did I start going into profit.
Good luck I say to anyone who has the balls to come up with a idea and see it through to fruition.

Hats off to all you guys that have put the time & effort in to develop these things, don't let the nay sayers put you off, or anybody else that comes up with ideas that can be developed for the benefit of the bongo community. if people don't like it - they don't have to buy into it.
I guess Ian has had his fair share of knockers (fnaar fnaar ), but if you put time into something, there is nothing wrong with getting some sort of financial reward, so good on ya guys

I know its a bit off thread and sorry, but the problem you have is that you are honest about what you do and dont hide it on the forum and in your posts.
You could sell stuff on ebay and never come on here and yet recieve rave reviews from fellow bongo owners who think you are a top chap - even though you are making money from them.
You could sell things for bongos under a different identity and endorse them here under another identity- who would really know.
There will always be jealous people out there just as there will be people who wont get off their backside and do anything other than the norm - usually they are one and the same and best ignored.
Good luck to someone who thinks they can make something useful for bongo owners and I hope they make some money out of it, as its all too easy to lose money trying.

Thanks for the kind words Alan ....and well done on getting your project off the ground(i will take a look at it in the shop) i have had a very busy day(picking up my v6 from southampton ) so will be in and out of here.....your offer of a swap ...i have the one from ava leisure ...which i hav'nt even had a load on it yet....but i may leave this on the diesel when i sell it ....so i may be up for the swap ....its still early days with the hoses but they are selling well and am happy with the healthy response especially from the north west mafia ...and have also been impressed with the service you guys are getting from mike and his boys at wheelquick ... i wish they were nearer me as i wouldnt have to get my hands dirty ....i hope all your time and hard work pays dividends ....
