Sounds odd doncha think Muz? First time he was rescued peeps thought it was pile of rubbish with a dusting of snow, lying just outside the new cafe by the summit. Sounds like we may have a hill climbing tramp on our hands ("rescuers were only able to pinpoint his position due to his outstretched arm and snow filled begging cap, which protruded from the snow").

Well done dude!!

Thats the sound system sorted then, yours is better than the Hacienda!! Must try & park you up by the marquee. . . .

A few others will be drooling over your flash motor too.

Fancy a convoy? - not sure what time I'm getting off on the friday though, might not be 'till lunchtime . . .

:-k

Just need to show my face Friday (well maybe not if we have a good week). I could put another couple of speakers in if we need some for the marquee....

Although pleasing everybody's musical tastes is a nightmare.
Convoy sounds like a plan will have a word with other Bongo & see if there coming or not then can say for sure.

if anyone fancies a convoy on friday, there are a couple of bongos leaving the chester services,by frodsham,at 1 oclock friday.if peeps want to meet there thats great, will be leaving at 1.15.
just to let peeps know,i went to abergele today and there are 2 sets of roadworks on route on the 55,both are those ones that filter into one lane, but once in them move at 40 max.the ist is at northop, and the second at st asaph,so be aware of a little delay.
can see these being a pain in rush hour so come early :D

Well that's a bummer. I was planning to pick the boys up straight from school but even then I'd need a clear run to get there and set up before darkness. I may have to revise plans and aim for an early start Saturday morning as I'd be in the thick of the rush hour :(

Thanks for the heads-up though jetska - better to know in advance than not know until you hit it =D>

We may possibly pick up the convoy on route if we see you as we are staying below Chester on Thursday night.

Does anyone have anything other than chilling on the campsite planned for saturday (apart from walking)?

Thanks for the warning Jetsa. I hope to get away early enough (if I can get out of bed) to miss the rush hour on the A55. Only 275 miles or 5hrs+ of driving for me (Yawn). If I am caught out I may go for the back roads via Mold, Ruthin and Betws-y-Coed which I used to use to get to Snowdonia when I lived in Liverpool. This was before the A55 was finished. I used to have a great time bombing through the forests in my Saab early in the morning with little traffic around, I wonder how the Bongo will manage it.

Thats just as quick a route but a much prettier way in to where we're going. That last run in off the A5 from Capel Cruig is stunning.

That's not a bad plan, according to Google Maps, from the Chester M56 services if you go on the A55, the normal route, you are looking at just over and hour and a half.....

Image

....and if you go through Mold & Ruthin you are going to take 20 minutes longer.

Image

But those timings are assuming warp speed in a car on the A55, so Bongo-pace may make it more even.

Option three as per Jetskier is to tack around the coast road from Sealand, go through Flint, Prestatyn, Rhyl etc and pick up the A55 at Abergele. This isn't any more distance than the A55 anyway.....

Jetskier - are the works on the other side too? - just pondering the run back as well.

they seem to be working on the central reservation so yeah both sides muz,was going to suggest going mold and ruthin way but thought it would be complicated for people not been before.we came back from abergele via the coast road, the old one that goes deeside, flint, prestatyn, only 40mph all the way but no hold ups,if you pick the road up at queensferry just stay on it till abergele and then join the a55 straight through, would only add about 20 mins to journey, just another option :D
sorry muz if you could put a map up for this route,i dont have the brain cells to do things like that on these

Ok, I've added that to the earlier post to keep all the options together. That coast road brings back some memories, I was at college in Connah's Quay and my grandparents lived in Rhyl, so know that road well. Might do that for old time's sake :D

There's the new bridge over the Dee as well, so you can miss Queensferry & Shotton, just follow the A548 from the end of the M56, but I might still go over the old bridge to check whether the Amantola tandoori is still there.
