Well it looks like you all had a great weekend too....well done all.
Tis such a long region north to south plus yorkshire tagged on the side that getting a big meet in a centralish location is always going to be problematic and is really only feasable about three times per year. These NNW & SNW mini meets on the same weekends may be an opportunity to be promoted.
It doesn't overload the diary with mini meets practically every week and gives people a choice of venues on particular weekends without putting loads of work on a single organiser.
Food for future thought???

Very valid point, Harry. Certainly, where we stayed is far too small to accommodate the full NW crew, but if there was an alternative on offer that would not matter so much - good idea.
The Red Lion worked well as a venue, and I know the Estima club are interested in a re-visit. We were made very welcome despite the short notice and being in larger numbers than we expected. I think it will be popular for future mini-meets of some description.

Well, what can I say... As Sandra has already said, kids had a great time. When i suggested and alternative to CF, it was just so that the people that wanted to get away for a weekend, or and extended weekend, would find a small camp site, that would not be bogged down, a place where you would feel more than welcome. The Red Lion, yup a small site, in fact Sandra and me have been pretty used to us haveing it to ourselves
To all those that came, you have now found a little place that I am sure many will visit again. Who knows
some of us could meet here again.
To those that did not attend, for whatever reasons, sorry that you did not make it. The north west bunch, are an increadable lot and through thick or thin we will all re-unite.
Now lets see if my thread gets moved/deleted... Bets anyone .....
I did not take my DSLR camera away this weekend
just a poxy HP popshot shooter, and sadly. I have lost some photos taken over the extended weekend, but if you ant to see what did manage to take, take a peek at

Once again, hope you all had a really nice time.

I am so glad that so many people attended this and the Silverdale meet at such short notice....just goes to show how much we mean to each other......The North West / Yorkshire faction will survive 'cos we are tough notheners in vests...he he......Good to know that your weekend wasn't spoilt by our unpredictable weather...and we are looking forward to seeing you all soon.
best wishes

Just been reading this thread (and trying to work out what happened! - presume CF got waterlogged out of business). Sounds like y'all had a great time.
Note to self: Don't go on family holiday next year due to risk of missing out

Hi Mike!
Yes your presence was missed, though quite where we would have parked your Bongo was another matter!
For us, this WAS our family holiday and it could not have turned out better. Thanks again to all who came and made it a great weekend.

Re: Red Lion, defo on, alternative to Charity Farm
thanks everyone for making this a great meet, and thanks for welcoming my freinds from gloucester and bristol.
site was brilliant and the pub/landlady very accomodating and in no rush for you to drink up early
certainly a place to consider for future meets.
Loads of children there and some of the most well behaved and respectful children i have ever met.
