Is the oil actually dripping out? (not just seeping) If not, I've had leaking axle seals for many thousands of miles -just top it up and go
. Also check that the breather, on top of the axle, isn't blocked with underseal etc.
Those teacakes sound yummy, but not as much of an innuendo as a mini roll

nah, but it has been on there a lot - fungal attacks etc. Did notice that the chase was on the Gadget show the other week as well. Can't move for camera crews
