Good point .... I'll keep an eye on them.g8dhe wrote:If you removed the loctite from the screws you might want to check them occasionally to make sure they aren't vibrating loose, or put some new loctite 243 on to replace it.

Re: Roof tent fixings
I just did this job on our new Bongo with the taller AFT.
One of the differences is that the rear tent bracket only has 3 bolts securing it to the roof. Our old (lower AFT) has 5 bolts.
As expected, the tent is so taut that the bolts had pulled out of the plastic holes. As above, I used mole grips and a ratchet with a phillips head to unscrew the screws. I'm not sure why Mazda decided to use such powerful threadlock !! They are virtually welded in.
So, glued the 3 metal inserts back in with araldyte and all sorted for now. Didn't bother with threadlock. I did notice that there are 2 extra holes in the plastic behind the metal strip, so I could over-engineer by drilling 2 holes in the metal strip and making some metal inserts for the plastic holes. Why Mazda only went for 3 instead of 5 bolts on the later roof type I don't know.
