Just checking a few details around & about, and there appears to be an abandoned Gloster Meteor on the site....

....but no evidence of a runway. How did it get there, is this an ex-RAF base? :?

That must be the local connection to the nearest railway station which Multimap says is in Workington Muzz. I'll get my coat. :oops:

Thanks Ian :D It would be great if you can get a pitch for us . I should have booked sooner, but was worried about whether I would be up to it or not. I'm Still not sure, but really want to be there [-o< and anyway how can I miss the offer from Dunslair of a wheelbarrow to get around the site :lol: :lol:

Good find Muz. I'm pretty sure there were Meteors flying out of Sharja airbase when I was there in the late 50s.

:lol: :lol: :lol: Yes Jimmy is getting so exhausted that he can probably do with one of those. Nice Video :) I already have one with a seat(if it will cope with the site paths) Muzette will enjoy a go on it with Tammy on her lap...yes Tammy likes to sit there with paws on handlebars :lol: :lol: , otherwise wheelchair or wheelbarrow . Quite fancy terrorising the kiddies though :twisted: :lol: :lol:

I take it that reason that this sold oot so quik was because the tough northeners was cancelled :( ,hopefully Ian can get more pitches so we all can meet up new and auld friends alike.

Not so sure about that, most of the people who booked TN are still going.

Then again, maybe because they are still going free of charge has freed up funds to pay for the Scottish bash :idea:

I think the great location, has a lot to do with the sell out this time. I'm sure it will be a good one :) Did you, manage to get booked OK Steve? It was my own fault that I missed the space, really....I was so worried that I would not be well enough :( I'm Still not sure that I will be :roll: Fingers crossed [-o<
