Hi all Ive opened just about every southport website and it states prebooked parking £5. but does not specify that includes beach parking. Colin

Hi Colin, are you ok to meet us at Ainsdale at 8 and we all go down to the fairground park together? Seems to work well, as we can all get a spot together on the fairground car park then

i suggest we do the same as we ended up with the best spots for the airshow on the fairground car park.
Sands public house, post code PR8 2QD for your sat nav
Ainsdale beach, near the Pontins holiday camp.

You dont have to pre book, just turn up, pays your fiver (if its the same price ) and go and park up on nice hard tarmac and not soft sand.

Depending on how visit of son and fiancee this w/e, as previously mentioned, pans out, Mrs M may or may not come on Sunday. If she doesn't, and in view of the great opportunity to finally meet some other north west peeps by arriving and parking with the majority, I'll probably go for the 8 a.m. Ainsdale meet.
Also, due to deferred but still pending knee surgery I've been banging on about, I'll not be up for the apparently traditional walk around Southport but will be quite happy to bring a book to keep myself amused while everybody buggers off. Would it be useful to have a stay behind Bongo guard on watch in the car park? If so, I'll make that the reason I have to be excused family stuff on Sunday, and get there for 8
