Tis me again!

Before I give the mechanic a call in the morning can I just ask advice re the temp gauge?

Thermostat replaced a few weeks ago. I've been watching temp gauge like a hawk and noticed it does fluctuate between cold and just under half way - mainly remains just under the half way marker (never goes above). Anyhow last night driving home from work 25 min journey - as expected gauge moved to the just under half way about 5 - 6 mins into the journey however shortly after that it when back to cold and didn't really move from there for the rest of the time. When i parked up it started to creep back but only a tiny amount.

Please someone tell me its nothing major - please [-o< [-o< [-o<

Sounds like a dodgy earth connection in the temp sender loom somewhere to me....?

You don't have a Mason alarm mod fitted do you...

Hi
Sounds like Jaylee MIGHT be right...BUT....get the system bled AGAIN, having watched the video on Bongo bleeding on Youtube....and while you're bleeding , get a pair of new temperature senders....You've had a smashing job done on the head by the sound of it, so a couple of extra quid will be the icing on the cake! You've said the stat was done, but there has to be something behind the saga of the heating that the previous owner had. Check the radiator, and monitor the water pump. IF...and I say IF you have minor coolant losses, the pump is easy enough to check. Let us know!...PLUS, you MUST check out ALL the hoses and see if any look at all manky.
Check back again
Cheers
Helen

Looks like your mechanic could do with a master class like the one that I got from Ady when he changed my hoses and bled my Bongo for me. To me it looked as though we had all the air out of the system but Ady was not satisfied and crawled under my Bongo and gave the hoses a good squeeze. Hey presto more bubbles popped up in the funnel. Perhaps this is were people go wrong even after watching the video, assuming that they have all the air out of the system too soon.

Hi Clare,
No news since 23 May. Did you finally get your motor sorted?
