Compressor pump replaced... Working lovely just in time for the winter..!! 
Managed to do the whole thing from the top getting it out past the alternator.. The only time i needed to get under the van was to check the belts in place & tighten the jockey wheel centre nut! Easier than it looks... Thanks for all the help & advice.
