Again, get your car working so you at least have it.
Then look to the courts or elseware to get some sort of compensation if its at all possible.
Burying their head and ignoring you hoping you will go away should not be allowed to work
I think the only way you will get any response is with a leagle threat.

I don't think where you are matters as the Trading Standards you need to contact is the one whose area the supplier is based in so if the trader was based in say errrr... *John O'Groats you would need to contact John O'Groats Trading Standards.
*I guess it isn't actually John O'Groats but just needed an example of where a Bongo Parts supplier might be based.

Personally feel for you, your in a bad place, the parts supplier and the garage will both blame each other and no one can prove either way more complication is the UK supply and Ireland fitment, in these cases its always better to get a garage to source and fit, then you have one point of blame and they can fight it out with their supplier if something goes wrong, for that reason we used to refuse to fit parts supplied by customers, it was our parts or we are not interested, that way we controlled the quality of parts and so knew we were fitting a OE spec water pump not a mickey mouse one for instance.

I realy feel for you - I can't believe the knowledge of the posters on these forums, if I had to pay £100 a year to be on this site then it would be money well spent.
I really hope you can get your problems sorted - On a footnote you have paid to repair your bongo what I bought mine for !! I am stunned someone would spend £3k getting their motor back on the road - she must be a beauty.....best of luck buddy..

Wow...!
The parts supplier has picked up the damaged head and taken it back to the UK to look at.
Lets hope that this is a turn around and something is finally going to be done.
Fingers, toes and everything else crossed.

I don't remember typing "John O'Groats"
I only picked Sheffield as I could only think of that or Plymouth as an example.

Latest update to this ongoing...un-developing story of my poor neglected sick Bongo.
The supply company have final contacted me to say that the head has arrived from Ireland back with them.
However they say that it is not the one that they sent me...!
So it sounds like they are accusing my garage here in Ireland of finding another head and sending it instead of the one they supplied. Despite me having extensive pictures of the head, despite me having an independent mechanic that also viewed the parts, despite my local garage that did the work happening to live across the road from me as a neighbor.
If they really think that I am going to let this one pass...!
Tomorrow I start the process through a third party and it is out of my hands.
Also getting very, very close to wanting to name and shame the well known company here...!

Latest update...
After a year, new engine, thousands of pound the Bongo is back on the road.
The supply company of the fully dressed cylinder head, that caused the original problem, has still not done anything to help and does not answer emails or phone to me any more. They still seem to be in business and I have noticed recent input to this forum from them.
As I am in Ireland it is a hard case to follow them up and get any kind of assistance.
Is there any one out there who would like to give me some advice with this?
Mostly it just upsets me that they are allowed to continue to advertise and promote their services, after leaving such a mess behind.
I guess PM me if you are interested.
Thanks
Tim

Lets assume the company is in Trumpton, you just give the trading standards office for Trumpton a call, they should do the rest for you.
The supplier is relying on you getting fed up and walking away, you cant let this happen.
I wonder if you paid by credit card? as if you did you have much better consumer protection re faulty goods and you could just pass the file to the card issuer.
The supplier has to consider, its possibly cheaper to refund you than take on a legal case, they think it will cost you a lot so think you wont do it. Contact the Trumpton small claims court and start a case, its simple, cheap and best of all they cannot claim costs from you, you dont even have to attend the court.
Any questions please ask
