Just confirm with or without hook up when you check in. We will be down by 3pm at the latest, whoever arrives first can say to the desk they are the advance party for the bongo meet that is booked in.
I have reserved 6 spaces but they could squeeze in anyone, who arrives and has not booked.
Weather does not look too bad for the weekend a bit cloudy but dry is the forecast.

Sara, I expect you and Donald and the kids will be first down, so just mention bongo,s at the desk, Elaine booked it under the name of Wilson so hopefully you will get first pick of the pitches.

Im from the eastern half of Galloway originally and now live a few miles away in Dumfries. I was never able to make this weekend for camping but siteowners permitting i may get across on sunday for a run as ive not been to any Bongo meets since forth bridge last year.

Anyway as a "local " here's a couple of options for anyone wanting to see a bit of the place.
Do take a run through to PortPatrick if possible, smashing wee place , nice harbour some good pub grub etc and a real gem on a sunny day.

If you do not want to travel far go into Wigton for a run , its designated a book town and has more than a few wee book shops.

For the more adventurous take a drive up into glen trool and the loch , some good views, walks and history around there.

For those travelling from the north its well worth planing your route round about the galloway forest park and the A712 Queensway where youll find lots to make it worth a detour. The scenery is pleasing on the eye, Murrays monument a nice we walk and it has spectacular waterfall neat the car park . The vistor centre at clatteringshaws dam has bene refurbish and Bruces stone is only 500m along a path from there. For the really energetic there is a small hill on the opposite side of the reservoir with a monument on top dedicated to the crew of a Dragonfly aircraft that crashed there in the in 1960's or so.

By the time you get through to new galloway youll be ready for a pit stop at the old smithy tea room.

Ill get a job with Judith Chalmers at this rate. Anyway enjoy your weekend

Sadly it's now looking unlikely that we're going to make it, Jr has decided he's coming home for Easter which changes all our plans
