Wondered about that as there's a spring 'involved'. Tried very gingerly but wouldn't give and didn't want to push my luck any further . . . .Northern Bongolow wrote:it looks the correct one to me simon, i wonder if the valve is faulty, can you push up the internal disc that is blocking the sensor with a screwdriver or something .

IF ... you are going to try it before fitting the pump .. generally Lucas ATF conditioner comes in 591ml bottles (just over half a litre) .. so why drain out a litre or two ..??
Unless your fluid is well over the full mark (checked while warm & engine running) then it should be OK ..

I think they are talking about a ATF transfer pump, (hope so)

I ordered a replacement fuel filter from mazdabongo on the advice of Ian M. It's just arrived in the post. I took it out of the carton next to the 'faulty' one I got from the bongofury shop earlier AND that fuel filter has SPONTANEOUSLY created the required space for the sediment trap!
It's just been sitting on my garage bench for a few days and maybe the change in temperature (it's certainly not hot in my garage) has caused the internals to relax! What do you think of that? It's unbelievable but true. Here are the photos:

I think you might be shoving your Tape Measure up the Wrong Hole.
