Maybe, but not comprehensive enough. Have you actually looked at what is needed?

I think the bongo seal may not be a simple one to reproduce as it has a metal insert in the bit that grips the roof, but if someone wants to pursue that option for a group buy, they could be on to a good thing.
I'm not saying it isn't out there & available cheaper than buying from Mazda, but I spent a lot of time trawling a lot of suppliers with no luck.
If someone is genuinely interested in pursuing this, then the way to do it is NOT to keep posting up links saying "what about this one?", but to look at the lists & see if there is anything comparable to the original seal and/or ask the companies direct about sourcing/manufacturing it. I did not pursue this angle.
Good luck :D

When all is said and done, I don't think the price you paid is that bad for a specialist genuine part on an ageing Jap import. I'll be interested to hear how you get on fitting it and may get one for mine, as it shows signs of getting a bit tired at the front end corners (though I think it wil go for a few more seasons with TLC).

Nope, same ones that are on all the lists

Image

Needs to be the same profile as the one on the left (Is anyone actually reading through the post before posting the same profiles again & again? )
I can also confirm it is not an easy job to fit the seal due to the 2 areas behind the rear hinges that are very close to the bongo body & the hinge itself, I had to unbolt the hinges (one at a time & force the roof back & up a bit (front of roof also then needs supporting - iused a 3m piece of wood) using a one handed clamp jobby used as a kind of jack, bloody awkward, still got the bruises to prove it, Ideally it's at least a 2 person job.
Start from the front, lining up the "cut outs" on the seal - ideally having marked where those are on the inside of the roof before removing the old one.

Just offered an option after seeing a Westy 2 weeks ago and chatting over a beer with the owner sharing ideas....the seal looked much like the Bongo one in the pictures....as it is compressed under when the roof is down..... If it aint no good ...well nowt lost in a suggestion...
