dripping oil

Well just done over 100 miles with no problems. Checked the service history and it was last done this time last year. Is it too soon for another one? Thinking I could get leak looked at, at the same time.

Now booked in for service at Mitchells in garstang. Feel confident as he started to ask the right questions about anything else being wrong with it. When I said about the leak he had a few suggestions. Fingers crossed.

When I purchased my Bongo 5 years ago, it had an oil leak from the rocker box cover. My mechanic told me to leave it, and I did. It always looked bad, drivers side top front of the engine, but it never dripped, nor aafected performance.
It stared to drip last year for the first time, and though it looked like oil, it was actually fuel, like someone here has already suggested. What I am saying, is don't panic too much about a rocker box leak, start to clean it down and try to find the source.

Hi Tom. I think you might be right about the source of the leak. I am not that worried since taking it to the garage last week. The mechanic said his discovery does similar things, but it never amounts to much. I did clean the engine with Gunk, and the leak still seems to be coming from the area I originally mentioned. Anyway its going for a service and check over next week, so that will give me more peace of mind. I am sure its oil as it doesn't smell of anything. We shall see.
