Nothing on the label about proprietry inhibitors...... the Diethylene Glycol iss an organic chemical to raise the boiling point if the fluid..... Sodium Benzoate is a preservative and Potassium Hydroxide is also known as caustic potash..Ron Miel wrote:Does it also include the item "Proprietary Inhibitors", in the label listing, as some other Mazda coolants apparently do? According to a, 2007 forum posting at MCX-7.com, with reference to the then-new "long-life pre-mixed FL22", that ingredients list specifically included "Proprietary Inhibitors (NJTSRN 217)".mikexgough wrote:Just some added info.............Genuine Mazda Long Life Coolant. (pre 2005 LLC)
According to the labels on the container, its ingredients are Ethylene Glycol, Diethylene Glycol, Water, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Hydroxide. It meets ASTM spec D-3306. It is a concentrate and Mazda recommends a 50/50 mixture of Mazda Long Life Coolant and demineralized water for year round protection. The part number is 0000-77-501E-02.
Either way, do you happen to know which inhibitors are included in the older version (also FL22-branded?) you refer to - presumably not silicates or borates? Is it a 5 years long life coolant?

I would hazard a guess that the later FL22 with the Proprietry Inhibitors, these Inhibitors are there to extend the coolant's life from 5 years to 10 years.....
The main coolant maker in Japan which supply O.E are CCI http://www.ccijp.co.jp/en/products/gold ... index.html........ they supply Green or Red..... and more info says "Golden Cruiser HV super concentrate is formulated with very high potency poly carboxylic acid -salt technology which effectively neutralises and removes all detrimental ingredients and rejuvenates the system with special protective chemicals, the product being super concentrate type it can be used at a much lower dilution for normal usage. This does not contain environmentally hazardous, phytotoxic and other low-stability chemicals like: amines, borates & silicates."
I guess .......your choice and yer pays yer money.....for me I am in the Premium Red camp....due mainly to being as close to factory coolant as you can get and the higher boiling point as compared to Green coolants..... not saying you should all go that way.....so like I say your choice....
