How many Bongos were at the Bash?

I was told that there were about 30. But we did not get an official list from Ian this year so only he can answer your question accurately.

Oh yeah, nearly forgot - we used to be able to get tinned haggis in FarmFoods stores in England, a vital emergency standby in the Bongo together with Spam, Pot Noodles and tins & jars of Bockwürsts. But lately they've stopped doing it

So, we dropped into the FarmFoods outlet in downtown Leven on Sunday on the way home, no stupid English Sunday trading hours to contend with, and stocked up on a few tins of the wee beasties - much to the confusion of all in the store

I reckon I can get a couple of tins past passport control

It looks & smells like cat food from the tin, but once you melt the congealed mass it's not a bad representation, definitely worth having a few tins for when the local kebab-house is closed

Thanks to Ian & Co. for organising the Bash. Good to see old friends and meet new ones. Got home last night after 1650 miles round trip. Still to work out how much diesel I bought. Woke up on Friday to find my Kyham awing with wind damage, two broken pole joints. Other than that had a lovely time. We explored the Neuk villages, spent a day sight seeing in Edinburgh and after the bash went touring the highlands. We crossed the Skye bridge in a gale force wind but did not venture far into the Island as it was pouring with rain and very strong winds. Visited Fort William and Loch Ness but never saw Nessie. Returned to England via Cumbria along the Kinross pass and Windermere. All in all had a wonderful time and was very impressed by the beauty of Scotland.
Roll on Scottish Bash 2012.

I have just started a new job, and one of the guys has a caravan at Shell Bay.

He was eating at the hotel in Lower Largo, and says the tide was as high as he had ever seen it in all the years he has been going to Shell Bay.

I know that had our wedding in Argyll been on the Monday rather than Saturday we could well have ended up in Fife hanging onto the marquee!

To Manny & Pat - glad to hear that you had a good time despite lack of awning and stayed safe on your journey north. We knew you had got back to England as we saw your Bongo as we drove out of the service station on our way down to York . Look forward to catching up with you at Stourport.

We also stayed in Scotland as part of a longer holiday (visiting some family history related places) and went across to Ayrshire where we stayed at Culzean Castle C&CC site - we went from front row sea view at Shell Bay to front row cliff top at Culzean - from frying pan into fire springs to mind !!!! We were in Ayr at the height of the gales ,tucked safely at the back of the seafront carpark and the sea had to be seen to be believed,never seen anything so powerful.
The wind just never let up and we decided to make our unit lower by sleeping with the caravan poptop roof down - quite comical but
felt very secure and lessened the sound of wind over us. It is a funny little ancient lightweight Rapido which has served us well , providing us with really snug accommodation for our travels . For those of you interested in statistics we travelled a total of 1320 miles and comfortably towed this very lightweight unit with our
2 litre petrol Bongo which never gave us a moment's problem .Our petrol consumption dropped from about 28 miles to the gallon on long runs (not towing) down to 23.5 towing the caravan.
Stopped overnight at Boroughbridge,York on a sheltered site -it was positively tropical there and we were able to walk into town without our coats

Mmm, looks good Paul, at least once its past the catfood stage.

Have to be a Derbyshire oatcake though, got a superb local supplier us, not wanting to start an oatcake war though.
