Given the weather forecast for May, does anyone have a gazebo or similar they can bring to cover the firepit? Given the numbers on the list, we may need more than one, so feel free to chuck it in if you have one :D

I have a spare dome tent that could be used to meet in, its high enough to stand in. But its got sides so not safe for a firepit.

Thanks Mary but I'm really looking for something we can cower under while sitting around the firepit. Given there's quite a few of us (although cowering around a firepit is obviously optional) I thought a few or three gazebos might do the job. Might pop down to The Range later and see if they've got a cheap'un.

Don't mind chipping in if you want to get a couple Jill, looks like we may need them and it is nice to sit round the fire.

We'll be bringing the Ozpig which works OK if you put him at the edge of a gazebo so his chimney is outside.

We've called him Idris after the dragon who lives in Ivor the Engine's firebox.

BTW, Be handy if we each bring a bag of wood for the firepit, if poss, please. :D

Thanks Bob. I've been looking but I haven't found a cheapie yet. The legs on the £20 ones seem to taper out so I don't know if they'd work with 2 together? Does anyone know?

I was wondering whether to bite the bullet and get a quick-erect one (around £70), but I don't know if I'd use it again, then again - the weather forecast .....

I'm still considering.

Argos - Reserved - £29.99 including side panels on special offer, size 3m x 3m. Will collect today or tomorrow.

It'll probably break at Eastnor but hey-ho can't compete with that price!

Was looking at pop-up waterproof ones from The Gazebo Company. Lovely brilliant super colours - £130.00 plus £20.00 for quick delivery - I don't think so.

Couple of quid each will be much cheaper than an evening in the pub, and it will keep the hot sun of our heads during the day. :^o

Anyone thinking of joining us but not wanting to commit, you can just turn up any day. Keeping a list of names is just a way of having an idea of how many are coming, and hence how big a space I need to 'try' to keep on the camping area.

You can either pay me your dosh on arrival, or wait to see the lovely Ranger when he comes around. Provided we get 10 units (looking promising) the price is £6.00 a night per unit. If we don't get 10, it may be £7.50 a night 8)

Remember there's no loos or showers. All there is are taps and tanks in the ground to empty your loo - oh and a beautiful view. There are fishing lakes if you're that way inclined, plenty of walking, and Eastnor Castle within walking distance.

I'm uploading some photos to Photobucket from last year. Big pics so may take a while ...

I.m not sure on this one, given the forecast. Mine is only two wheel drive plus road tyres. Eastnor is unlikely to have any made up roads and it will be sludgey underwheel. :(

Just heard about a friend's camping trip in Norfolk. Pitch 3in underwater and site churned up till it was only passable by a 4w drive. He got off as he has a heavy duty pick up, but had to tow several caravans who were also trying to escape. He got to go home after one horrible night with everbody chilled and wet.

I will wait another day to see if the forecast inproves, but I will have to decide soon on the dog's kennel booking.

Another point will the site close if the conditions are bad? As it is a park the owner will not want it churrned up.
