What control the radiator fan?
Just noticed that the two radiator fans do not work. futher check found the fans are working but no power supply to them. Trace back to the two relay boxes under the battery bay, found the relay is OK but no signal (voltage) to activate it. Anyone came across this problem and what voltage to activate the fans control relay?
Don't panic, unless your engine is overheating or losing coolant, in which case panicking is a suitable response.
I am not an expert but I would guess that the "signal" voltage would be supplied by a thermally operated switch and will only be present once the engine is on the point of overheating.
On the run, I am unaware whether the fans are operating or not but the temperature looks good on the dial.
Occasionally the scavenger (big) fan runs when the engine is stopped and the ignition switch is turned on but that is about it.
Someone will be along in a minute with techie info no doubt but till then, hope this helps.
